Michelle Lang has a long history with Parkside! She started as a University of Oregon student-intern back in 1984 when the school was known as Child Care Inc. In that role she was a teacher and did community outreach.

After graduating and a short time away, she came back to be Co-Director/Teacher with Diane. During that time, they ran the program and eventually Michelle ran the capital campaign to build the new building that Parkside enjoys today.

Michelle retired from Parkside in 2019 after 31 years as director and nearly 39 years in the field of Early Childhood Education. But Parkside is a hard place to leave and she has stayed involved in both committee work and consultation with Dawn and Kristine since her retirement!

Michelle is happily married to her husband Lyle and has two wonderful grown daughters, both of whom attended Child Care Inc. years ago! She also has a granddaughter that she loves spending time with as much as possible, and is expecting two more grandchildren in the spring and summer of 2022! Life is busy and fun, even when retired!

She is excited to be a Board member and to share her love for and the history of Parkside with the next generation!
